Industrial Machinery Control Technician
Mission:
The mission of the Industrial Machinery and Controls Technician program is to provide students with the skills necessary to enter a career in the Manufacturing, Distribution, and Process Control fields.
Description:
This program prepares students to work in the emerging field of motor control technology. Instruction will be focused on providing an understanding of how machines are wired, programmed, and controlled in industrial and manufacturing settings. Fundamentals of motor drives, touch panels, and complete system troubleshooting are covered. Classroom lecture and extensive hands-on lab activities are utilized to enhance connections between theory and practical application. Further instruction is focused on electrical theory, planning, and preventative maintenance. Technical and production skills are covered as well as the theory of labor and community issues. Extensive training is provided in health, safety, and environmental issues.

- MSSC CT-SCA- EM Certification in Equipment Maintenance
- MSSC CT-SCA- ER Certification in Equipment Repair
- MSSC CT-SCA- NR Certification in Network Repair
Unique Requirements
The State of Florida requires students to meet a basic skills requirement prior to program completion. The basic skills grade levels for this program are: Computation 9.0 and Communications 9.0
Certificate Requirements:
A student must meet ALL the following conditions to earn a Certificate of Program Completion from WTC:
- Pass all courses and OCPs in the program
- Complete the required curriculum
- Settle all school debt including returning textbooks for high school students
- Meet Florida Basic Skills requirements for the program
- Receive the instructor's recommendation

Typical class times are 7:30am to 3:00pm M-F
